Victor GOTIȘAN

Senior media relations and analysis expert, StratCom

Victor Gotișan is a researcher and expert in media and communication. He has almost 20 years of professional experience in the media, communication and the associative sector. He is currently a senior expert and media analyst in the EU project “Strategic Communication and support to Mass-Media in the Republic of Moldova”.

 

He provides consultancy to several national and international organisations, including the Independent Journalism Centre from Moldova (Moldova), Independent Media House (Moldova), Soros-Moldova Foundation (Moldova), Freedom House (USA), Baltic Centre for Media Excellence (Latvia), Deutsche Welle Akademie (Germany), n-Ost (Germany), Südosteuropa-Gesellschaft/Southeast Europe Association (Germany), Solidarity Fund PL (Poland) and others. From 2016-2021 he was the author of the country report “Nations in Transition”, published by Freedom House. Since 2017 he is country contributor to the Eastern Partnership Index (EaP), developed by the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum.

 

He holds a degree in theology and philosophy from the State University of Moldova (USM). He holds a Master’s degree in Anthropology from USM and another in History of Central Europe from the University of Warsaw (Poland). He is a graduate of the Chisinau School of Advanced Studies in Journalism.

 

He is a native speaker of Romanian, fluent in Russian, English and Polish, and knows Czech at an intermediate level.
