The project aims to strengthen the protection of civic space and media freedom in the Republic of Moldova through the monitoring and analysis of attacks against civil society organisations (CSOs), human rights defenders (HRDs), independent media outlets and journalists. Particular attention will be paid to the role of disinformation and information manipulation, including recurring narratives, methods and patterns of dissemination and amplification.
The project combines monitoring and research, stakeholder consultations, the development of evidence-based recommendations, and public awareness-raising activities.
– Preparation of the Tenth Edition of the Radiography of Attacks
The project will document and analyse attacks against CSOs, HRDs, independent media outlets and journalists between 1 January 2026 and 28 February 2027. The research will examine recurring patterns, methods and narratives, with particular attention to the role of disinformation and information manipulation, the channels through which hostile narratives are disseminated and amplified, and emerging trends compared with previous editions.
– Stakeholder Consultations and Strengthening Cooperation
Consultations will bring together civil society representatives, HRDs and independent media actors to discuss preliminary findings, contribute additional evidence and perspectives, and explore possible responses and opportunities for cooperation. Interested organisations will be invited to endorse the report’s findings and recommendations by co-signing the final document.
– Public Awareness-Raising and Dissemination of Findings
The Radiography’s findings and recommendations will be presented at a public launch event and disseminated through video materials and online communication activities to raise awareness of threats to civic space and media freedom in the Republic of Moldova.
