Ilie is a legal researcher and consultant with almost 10 years of professional experience in the non-profit sector. Ilie’s primary legal expertise includes judicial reform, digital rights and non-profit law. Previously, he was involved in monitoring and evaluating the mechanisms and practice of selection and promotion of judges and prosecutors, development and implementation of the percentage designation mechanism (2% Law) as well as the concept of the new legislation in the associative field in the Republic of Moldova. Ilie is also the author of the first LRCM podcast, dedicated to digital rights.
Since 2022, Ilie has been a member of the Integrity Council, a collegial board-like structure of the National Integrity Authority.
Ilie holds a law degree from the State University of Moldova (USM). He holds a Master’s degree in Civil Litigation from USM and a Master’s degree in International Human Rights Law from the University of Essex (UK). He is a graduate of the Tech Camp for Civic Space Defenders, Stanford University GDPi-ICNL (USA), an ambassador of the Global Community for Young Leaders (One Young World) and a former fellow of the Human Rights Resource Group, Soros Foundation (Moldova).
Ilie’s mother tongue is Romanian, and he is fluent in English and Russian.
