SUMMARY:Public lecture “The Internet in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Implications for Human Rights”
DESCRIPTION:Safer Internet Day is on the international calendar of days observed in February. From cyberbullying to social media and to digital identity, every year the day is marked by actions to raise awareness of emerging online issues and current concerns.\nThe internet has become almost ubiquitous in people’s lives and the integration of artificial intelligence into the online environment is gaining momentum. Hence the inevitable question – to what extent can human rights be influenced by these processes?\nOn 22 February, we invite students from law, journalism, international relations and political science faculties, as well as young professionals, to participate in a new #LRCM public lecture – “The Internet in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Implications for Human Rights” – which will take place via the Zoom platform from 15:00 – 16:30.\nTogether with the LRCM team and Irina Buzu, Artificial Intelligence Advisor, we will explain key concepts, discuss and learn:\n\nWhat is internet access from a legal perspective.\nWhat the concept of artificial intelligence entails.\nHow artificial intelligence is regulated.\nWhat will be the impact of artificial intelligence on human rights.\n\nTo register, click here: https://forms.office.com/e/nQjGWjCXW1\nThis event is organized with the financial support of the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) in the framework of the project “Strengthening human rights standards in Moldovaˮ, implemented by the Legal Resources Centre from Moldova (LRCM).
